The Pan African Space Station hosted Thath’i Cover Orkestra in a unique re-exploration of kwaito music at Guga Sthebe- Arts & Culture Center, Langa.

The brainchild of Rangoato Hlasane and Malose Malahlela from Keleketla! Library, Thath’i Cover Okestra invites a crew of young independent Joburg-based musicians to investigate the meaning and importance of kwaito music’s legacy for a new generation.

This recording features original and new members of the Okestra, including Tito Zwane (bass guitar), Tiko Ngobeni (percs, didge and toys), Zweli Mthembu (guitar, Simphiwe Tshabalala (drums),Card on Spokes (electronics), Lee Thomson (trumpet) and Masello Motana (vocals). Arranged, directed and conducted by Cape Town-based jazz pianist Bokani Dyer.
